Training with Vukii
Vukii is an excellent training device for new water sports enthusiasts, including those learning to wake board, wake surf, wake skate, water ski and sky ski. Vukii has two unique features which enable and enhance water sport training, proficiency and efficiency.
Dead Start
Vukii's powerful acceleration capability allows riders to "dead start" up and out of the water to begin each ride. The rider in the water adjusts position to the perfect start up angle, presses the rope handle remote control button and Boom! - UP - OUT - and onto the water plane before the boat even begins
to accelerate forward.
To see a video demonstration of a dead start go to the Gallery page and click on the video titled "4 year old". The 4 year old in this video had never successfully made it up and out of the water before using Vukii. Vukii is extremely versatile and powerful and can also pull a 250 lb. man out of the water.
The dead start works as an excellent training tool for all water sports beginners and intermediates. Some benefits include:
- Rider control of the start up attempt - The rider maneuvers to the perfect start-up angle and instantaneously pushes the control button. No losing the perfect start-up angle due to drift or rough water while waiting 1-3 seconds for the boat driver to kick the boat into gear - a short but critical lag time.
- No fear of boat engine noise or developing wake - Many young children, and even some teens, are distracted by, or even fearful of, the loud boat engine noise and roiling wake that appear as the boat roars into action to pull the rider up. With dead start the boat barely idles forward for up to 7 seconds while the rider dead starts out of the water and begins moving toward the boat.
- Time saving restarts - If the rider dead starts up to begin the ride and falls, the rider can simply grab the handle and try again without the boat circling to reposition the rider. This saves time, fuel and frustration.
Hand Held Remote Control
The Vukii comes equipped with an additional control mechanism, a hand held remote touch screen device that remains inside the boat. This device controls several Vukii settings, displays rope length, and allows the operator to reel the tow rope in and out by simply pressing a button.
Four key movement parameters are controlled by the hand held remote:
- Forward acceleration
- Travel velocity
- Rope slack
- Reel out speed
Each movement parameter has 10 settings with "1" being the slowest and "10" being the fastest. The operator can adjust these settings at any time with the hand held remote device.
